Media is encrypted with keys derived in the browser using WebRTC insertable streams. The routing servers forward encrypted frames and never hold the content keys.
Business customers can deploy the media layer inside their own VPC while signalling stays with us, or run the whole stack on-premise under a separate licence.
They stay available for 30 days after the downgrade so you can export them. Nothing is deleted without an email warning first.
